The early Christian Church was told by the then governing body that should it (that governing body) ever declare as good news something beyond what it had already declared as good news that Christians should disfellowship that body (hold it as accursed). The same was true of individuals among Christians, whether members of the then governing body or not.[1]
For decades and decades Watchtower’s Governing Body[2] declared as part of its good news that some of the generation living in 1914 would see the biblical event known as “the great tribulation” and its culmination known as Armageddon.[3]
Lately Watchtower’s Governing Body has been declaring something beyond what it formerly declared as part of its good news. Today Watchtower declares that someone other than the generation living in 1914 would see Armageddon.[4]
Now let me see. How did that biblical teaching say Christians should treat a governing body that declared as good news something beyond what it had already delcared as good news?
Oh, that's right. Christians were told to treat them as "accursed". Watchtower's New World Translation says so, so it must be true. Right?
