The Governing Body that exerts influence on the Watchtower organization acknowledges that it neither has nor maintains a global network of “anointed ones” that, according to its teachings, represents the body of Christ.[1]
Does this Governing Body have a global network of anything?
In 1993 Watchtower writes:
The Governing Body headquartered at Watchtower in Brooklyn, New York has not seen fit to form or maintain a global network of those whom it claims to represent, which it terms as the “anointed ones” of the earth.[1]
However the Governing Body headquartered at Watchtower in Brooklyn, New York has seen fit to form and maintain a global network of printing factories, which under the Watchtower organization’s legal Charter is dominated by the same Governing Body.
What this Governing Body claims to primarily represent is something for which it does not form or maintain a network of, yet what it does not claim to primarily represent it has expended tremendous resources of time and money to both form and maintain an extensive and well-integrated network of.
For these reasons this author chooses to use the phrase Watchtower’s Governing Body. First and foremost, this body of men represents the global business interest known as the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society of Pennsylvania, Inc., and all its subsidiaries.
