When it comes to unity of teaching and belief Christians place substance over source[2]:
Watchtower’s governing body: teaches Jehovah’s Witnesses to shun fellow Witnesses who refuse to accept and believe some new teaching coming from it.[3-4]
The early governing body: taught the community of Christians to shun it should it teaching something different than what those Christians had already been taught and accepted.
