Mistakes related to predictions and matters of fact made by the Watchtower organization are well documented.[1-2]
But recently the organization has admitted its mother of all mistakes.
Prior to 2012 the Watchtower organization had been teaching Jehovah’s Witnesses that its Governing Body was the spokesman for the biblical “faithful and discreet slave” of Matthew 24:45. This “slave” was taught to Jehovah’s Witnesses as the sum total of spirit-begotten, anointed followers of Christ alive on earth of the 144,000 chosen ones spoke of in Revelation chapter 7.[3]
But as of October 6, 2012 Watchtower’s Governing Body starting teaching something different.[4]
So what is the mother of all mistakes?
It turns out Watchtower’s Governing Body was wrong about who it was the spokesman for!
That’s right. Though one would think it impossible not to know who you’re a spokesman for, it turned out not to be so impossible for the Watchtower organization to get this fundamental matter of fact just plain-old dead-flat wrong.
As of now, Watchtower’s Governing Body realizes the whole time it has been no more than a spokesman for itself. Yet, until now this leadership was apparently confused about who it was listening to and speaking for.
The whole time Watchtower's top leadership has only been listening to and speaking for itself! And, we have this confession right from the source itself.
