It comes to this author’s attention that a jury has found in favor of a plaintiff suing the Watchtower organization for crimes of sexual child abuse committed by one of Jehovah’s Witnesses against the plaintiff. The judgment is in the millions for a single plaintiff.

I further understand this jury will deliberate for purposes of determining whether punitive damages should be imposed, and if so in what amount.

Decisions of punitive damages are often decided in concert with knowledge of a defendant’s net worth. With this in mind I offer the following:



Though this document is dated, it should nevertheless be useful to a jury of peers deliberating over the amount of punitive damages it will impose, if any.[1]
