An earlier article on this blog quoted Dr. Thomas Lane, MD referring to “dramatic evidence” of poor outcomes for Jehovah's Witnesses with acute myeloid leukemia (AML)[1] that refuse transfusion of blood products forbidden under the Watchtower organization's blood doctrine.[2-3]

One reference cited by Dr. Lane is an article published in the European Journal of Haematology[4]:

What this article shares regarding Jehovah’s Witnesses with AML is very, very grim for those who choose to abide by the Watchtower organization’s blood doctrine.

Jehovah’s Witnesses tend to trust Watchtower’s Governing Body. That organization’s blood doctrine is killing Jehovah’s Witnesses by the thousand. Just last year alone there were almost 2,000 preventable deaths statistically attributable to this single religious doctrine.[5-6]

The good news is that not all Jehovah’s Witnesses agree with or abide by the Watchtower organization’s blood doctrine.[7]

Any questions?
