The Watchtower organization is in process of holding instructional meetings restricted to men it has appointed to positions of authority known as elders. This program is known as Kingdom Ministry School for elders.

This year the primary textbook is a newly released publication titled Shepherd the Flock of God—1 Peter 5:2.[1] This book is to be kept “secured and confidential”. Elders are further instructed that “other individuals should not have any opportunity to read the information.”[2]

During the program there is a segment instructing elders to share what it terms “points” with parents whose child is faced with a medical condition likely to require transfusion of either whole blood, red cells, white cells, platelets or plasma. This part of the program is accompanied with a two-page handout titled HOW PARENTS CAN PROTECT THEIR CHILDREN FROM MISUSE OF BLOOD.[3]

Like the textbook that no one else is to have access too, of this handout Watchtower instructs elders not to let others have copies.

It is difficult to fathom why published information that is supposed to help parents and children is something that parents and children should not be given copies of. But that is Watchtower’s position.
