The Watchtower organization’s blood doctrine is widely publicized in news media for a variety of reasons, but mostly because it has led to otherwise preventable deaths. This has caused many academic researchers, friends and relatives of Jehovah’s Witnesses to analyze the religious position. It has also caused many among Jehovah’s Witnesses to take a closer look at what the community’s parent organization teaches on the subject compared with independent findings.

The following articles present research on this topic to assist those concerned. It delves into all aspects: history, society, internal disagreement, doctrinal development, medical research and much, much more.

Among other things, readers will learn the community of Jehovah’s Witnesses has never wholly embraced the organization’s religious position on blood transfusion. Information is also given to help quantify the level of mortality and morbidity resulting from this doctrine.

Please feel free to share any critique on what is presented in this research. We all learn from one another.

Sincerely,
Marvin Shilmer
