Returning my blog presentation to a more serious tone...

What is the relevance of articles below publicizing historical conclusions presented by Watchtower that are at worst outright quackery and at best ignorant, misguided and—from a purely biblical perspective—overstated?[1-9]

Watchtower presentations of the period demonstrated ignorance found in social spheres prone to superstitious speculation about events historically associated with supernatural intervention. If Watchtower’s top leadership were educated on these matters yet chose to share conclusions steeped in utter ignorance then these presentations were dishonest appeals to the ignorant. On the other hand, if these presentations by Watchtower were honest then the organization’s top leadership was at the time very ignorant on the very subjects they chose to address.

Enlightenment?

From where or to what was Watchtower’s top leadership attributing its training and education? Watchtower was at the time attributing its enlightenment to a flow of information from God.[10]

This flow of information was said to be in a definite path. According to Watchtower, the enlightenment of its leadership came from God who had given it to His Son, Jesus who entrusted it to faithful angels who then conveyed the information to their minds.[11]

The Expectation

Given the supposed source and path of Watchtower’s enlightenment one would expect to find a high degree of accuracy, and teaching that was not littered with speculation mired in common historical superstitions, not to mention attribution of “scientific” to conclusions outside those held by mainstream science yet fully explainable by natural (not supernatural) cause.

What Else?

During the same era Watchtower’s top leadership was concocting and sharing tall tales about demonization we also find it had concocted the most unique of all Watchtower teachings, which is its blood taboo.[12]

To this day Watchtower’s blood doctrine remains unique. Aside from Watchtower, no other religion, biblical scholar or scientist has take up the organization’s precise position on blood as though it is true or might be true scientifically or biblically.

When pressed to answer for important and telling details of its blood doctrine, Watchtower responds saying “we have not dealt with all the details”.[13]

In the meantime, folks are still suffering premature death for abiding by Watchtower’s blood doctrine.[14-15]
